Snaps from Group Shoot

Yesterday was the last session of my photography class I've been taking at the Light Factory.
I am bummed because the class has been so much fun.  My teacher is an amazing photographer.
You can check out his work here

We had our group shoot for the class on Sunday night in NoDa.
Then our homework assignment from the shoot was to select our top ten favorite photos and present them to the class on Monday.  It is so neat to see how even though we are all shooting the same scene, everyone has a different perspective and comes up with a different shot.  Oh and we also voted on our favorites out of each person's top ten.  That was also pretty cool to see which of your photos got the best reaction from the class.

Here's a look at my top ten.  Which is your favorite?

We don't do Mondays

The pup and I feel the same way about Mondays.
Only difference is that my Monday consists of a long work day followed by an evening class.
Hers consists of... this.  She's got a tough life.

Weekend Recap

Ah, home sweet home.  Home is sweeter when you arrive after driving 10 hours in one day all the way from Indiana.  Also sweeter when you reunite with husband after a long weekend.  Here's a recap of my weekend in Instagram photos...

Precious moments with the babe.
Exploring Bloomington, Indiana.  Pretty hip little college town.  Wish I had the hubs with me to frolic around campus.
Lots of car time.  Blah.  Sent these kisses to the mister!

Don't wanna say goodbye to this face!

How cute is that face?!  Pretty darn cute, right?  Too bad I have to say goodbye to her tomorrow and EXTRA sad that I have to drive 10 hours home ugh.

Well it's been fun getting to see her and hold this little precious.  She seriously is one of the most expressive babies I have ever seen at this young age of a week and a half.  She makes all kinds of faces and she is constantly moving her arms and hands.  The cutest part about her is that she has this itty-bitty little point to her ear that has just the tiniest little bit of blonde hair on it.  You can't really see it in these pictures, but just trust me it is so cute.

Josh's parents are also here this weekend.  We all took her for a short walk today and then we got her ready for her bath.  That was the most activity she got today.  She seemed to enjoy the walk.  She absolutely hated the sponge bath.

Happy baby all comfy on her walk
Very unhappy baby getting a bath
Here are more happy pics of baby Sofi for your enjoyment...

Life pretty much stinks without this guy

Husband is gone today and for the rest of the weekend.  Actually, I'll be gone this weekend, too, but I don't leave till tomorrow morning.  So that means I have one day and one lonely night in the house allll by myself.  Dang, I miss this guy already!

We endured long distance for much of our pre-marriage relationship and it never was easy being apart.  I HATE when he's gone, and not just because I get embarrassingly scared being home alone at night.  I look back on those long distance days and I seriously don't know how we did that for so many years.  So I guess I can suck it up for one day in the house without him.

Husband, you are my sunshine.  Be safe, and hurry home!  Life is just no fun without you!

I might steal her

Got this picture in my email from my sis yesterday.  I'm driving 10 hours to visit this little cutie this weekend and there is a strong possibility that I'm going to try and steal her...

Date Night

Date "Night" started pretty early on Saturday with a 4:00 showing of the latest XMEN movie.  We LOVED this movie.  I adore a good chic flick as much as the next girl, but this is pretty much what I consider my favorite kind of movie.  Go see it.  Oh and to make it even more wonderful, we splurged on popcorn and coke.

The movie got out just in time (after about an hour of me being distracted by pretty things on sale at jcrew) to grab some dinner.  Then we decided to swing by the house to pick up the pup and a blanket to go listen to the live music at Birkdale.  We found a nice spot on the grass and enjoyed the weather and free tunes while person after person of course stopped to admire our little pup.  Pretty much the perfect little Saturday.

Memorial Weekend

Let's back up and talk about what we did last weekend.  It was a fun one!

Friday afternoon, we drove to TN to visit with the McCoys.  We got there just in time to eat some dinner, get in the hot tub, and make S'mores over the fire pit (my fave!) We got up bright and early Saturday morning to head to the farm and do some four-wheeler riding.  We explored lots of fun trails and even crossed over a stream.

It was pretty cool until the boys started suffering pretty bad from allergies.  Then it was time to pack up and go home!  But of course not until after Matt made me take photos on the tractor...

Back at the house was lots of hide-and-seek, building tents, and playing cooking man with this little guy.  The pic below is us hiding under the chair in a round of hide-and-seek.  I don't have any pics of baby Dylan from the weekend, but I will recap his existence by telling you that we listened to the sound of the vacuum cleaner running for much of this weekend.  The little babe cries from about 5-9 and the only thing that will get him to stop is hear the vacuum cleaner.  Have you heard of such a thing?  So you get to choose what is more pleasant of the two: a baby crying at the top of its lungs or a loud vacuum cleaner.  This is not a win/win folks!  At least he is cute, so we'll give him a pass on this little habit.  But auntie sure can't wait till he outgrows this stage and is able to instead join in on some hide-and-seek :)

Umm, you might want to prepare yourself before viewing the below picture.  I am just putting the cuteness warning out there because this is C.U.T.E.  When we were climbing into bed on Saturday night, we heard a little rustling around on the floor.  Matt flipped the light on to find Furgie had climbed into his overnight bag to go to sleep!  Just when I thought she couldn't get any more adorable...

We drove back Sunday night in time to spend Memorial Day out on the lake on Monday.  We visited over at Jeremy and Laura's lake house where we cooled off in the water until it was time for a late lunch and we continued the day at the lake at Rusty Rudder.

Hope everyone had a nice and relaxing Memorial Weekend!

It's not like we've been waiting on pins and needles or anything

She's finally arrived!  I am a Tita to this beautiful little babe!  Announcing Sofi Link, born 11:02am on May 31, 2011, 6lbs 12oz.  I can't wait to see this little thing in person and give her tons of squeezes!!!
